Halon gas
Halon gas is a chemical compound used as an extinguishing agent for putting out fires without leaving any residue. The most used types are Halon 1211 and Halon 1301. However, due to its ozone-depleting properties, its production is prohibited by the Montreal Protocol.
Brazil, along with other countries that have signed the protocol, allows companies accredited by IBAMA and CETESB to receive and recycle these gases to meet fire protection needs, as no substitute with the same efficiency has been developed
